We will see The Angels faces again this August

Aussie music legends, The Angels, are on tour to revive legions of fans of their iconic riff heavy classic rock which has inspired both home and abroad since the band formed in 1974. You may recall their hit song from ’76, “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again” or 80s fast paced pop-rocker “Dogs Are Talking”.  Well, now 30 odd years later, they have shed the mullets and they are coming to St Kilda to prove they still go hard!

Since Dave Gleeson – of The Screaming Jets fame – joined The Angels two years ago, the new guise of The Angels have been winning over old and new fans around the country. It’s no surprise The Angels are  known as one of the hardest working in the industry and have secured the reputation of being one of the best live bands in the country. And even die-hard fans of The Angels have to admit Dave Gleeson has established himself as a formidable front-man.

Founding member John Brewster, has recruited bass player and son Sam into the band to commemorate the passing of beloved original bassist Chris Bailey, who tragically lost a battle to cancer in April this year. John explains “It was a tragic loss indeed, but life goes on and it was Chris’ wish that the band go forward with my son Sam continuing in his place. He said to me, ‘I’m handing the baton to Sam, he’s a good guy and a fine player.’”

The Angels’ current album Take it To the Streets, which features all new material, was released last year and debuted at #7 on the ARIA charts. But it doesn’t stop there. They have a new album in the works which will be recorded later this year. Add to this the recent release of their The Angels – Live at QPAC, the first live album in 24 years and there is certainly an ever-increasing buzz of excitement around the band.

The Angels play Saturday 3rd August 2013 at The Espy, Gershwin Room, St Kilda (03) 9534 0211 www.espy.com.au or visit www.theangels.com.au for more details.
