‘The Flash’ (2014) is an American TV show based on the original series, which aired from 1990-1991. The first season of ‘The Flash’ (2014) was televised in Australia on Fox 8. The season finale aired on May 20th 2015.

I have come to enjoy this DC series, including a cross-over episode with ‘Arrow’ and another episode with a few well known characters including Black Canary, Deathbolt, Clock King, Pied Piper, Peek-a-Boo, Blackout, Atom (episode 18).

‘The Flash’ started out as a comic book series back in 1959. Volume one lasted until 1985. Volume two ran from 1987 to 2009. Volume 3 comics ran from 2010 to 2011. Volume 4 runs from 2011 to the present. There have also been Annuals out for ‘The Flash’ comics.

In ‘The Flash’ (2014) we follow Barry Allen, aka The Flash (or The Crimson Streak), Henry Allen (well, no need to say who he is as he is Barry’s father and framed for a crime he didn’t commit), Iris West (Barry’s love interest and foster sister, who is also a news reporter) and Joe West (the foster father of Barry Allen who’s real father Henry is locked up in jail).

Other characters include Dr Caitlin Snow (named after Killer Frost), Eddie Thawne (a transfer police officer), Cisco Ramon (a mechanical engineering genius, named after DC Comics character Vibe) and Dr. Harrison Wells/Reverse-Flash (the mind behind S.T.A.R Labs).

Recurring characters in ‘The Flash’ (2014) include Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Linda Park, Firestorm (depends on which one you want – Ronnie Raymond is Caitlin’s fiancé, while Martin Stein is a nuclear physicist on transmutation), David Singh and Gideon (a mysterious A.I assistant to Dr. Henry Wells, created by Barry Allen in the original future timeline for a yet-to-be revealed purpose).

There is talk about a Season 2 for ‘The Flash’ (2014), along with a few more crossover episodes, which I hope will explain a few things about some characters – who may or may not be around for future episodes.

I can say we’ll be seeing more characters including Gorilla Grodd and such that we have seen in The Flash Comic’s and in some video games from ‘Traveller’s Tales’ LEGO Games.

I for one am hoping to see more new villains and good-guys in ‘The Flash’.
