St Kilda City Football Club are about to embark on another football season, competing in Division 1 of the Southern Football League. After dominating the competition from 2007 to 2010, claiming three premierships in four grand final appearances, they’re keen to again see some September action.

2013 has seen the introduction of a new coaching team spearheaded by senior coach Gavin Mahony and reserves coach Mark Blundell. Both have a wealth of football experience and have guided the saints playing group through a solid pre-season period. Mahony speaks enthusiastically about the potential of the side in 2013: “We’ve got a great mix of experienced players and younger guys who have now had a few years of senior footy under their belt. Supporters can expect some fast and entertaining football from our side this year”

Recruits for 2013 include a mix of youth and experience with a few past premiership legends returning to the farm: Mark Tasiyan (Mallee Eagles), Josh O’Neill (Port Colts), Steve Arvinitis (Oakleigh Districts), Norbert Williams (Collegians) and Declan Harrington (Black Rock), all return to St Kilda City after a period playing elsewhere. First time visitors to the Peanut Farm include: Dan Quinn (Woomelang Lascelles), Shane Reid (Garfield) and Jason Cheah (Sydney University).
