Data recently released by the State Government shows that over the last 3 months of 2014, the speed camera on the corner of Fitzroy St and Lakeside drive raked in almost $3.5 million with 14,000 infringements.

Traffic camera commissioner Gordon Lewis could not explain the 65% increase of infringements when speaking on 3AW last month.

“I’m commencing an investigation into fixed cameras in 40 kilometre per hour zones due to the number of public complaints I’ve received at my office here and that’s with the support of [Police] Minister [Wade] Noonan,” Mr Lewis said on radio.
