St Kilda’s local business, Soundkraft Records (SKR) are a fast growing community based music company that is all ears for music. Since their inception back in 2007, Soundkraft turned 5 years old in October 2012. The label has seen several ups and downs through this initial period of finding their ground in a heavily followed industry of dance music and events. From Europe to Australia, SKR (Soundkraft Records) are spreading their wings fast across the electronic dance music community.

Acknowledged for their outstanding services in the City of Port Phillip, SKR were nominated finalists in the People’s Choice category – (City of Port Phillip) Business & Service excellence awards 2012, by a range of clients, customers and suppliers. SKR have hosted music events with a large number of Australian and international artists. The business is recognised as being run by artists for artists. “It provides and avenue to promote up and coming talented artists”, wrote one nominee. “They are very dedicated to their work!”.

SKR have supported the introduction of Corporate Social Responsibility to their business operations, and have managed to raise over $2000 in support of Little Learners Autism Program (LLAP). “ Music has been a means of conveying great messages of unity and respect to many communities of the world, and its important that music is used not just to entertain people, but also as a communication tool to address issues that have an effect on how we live our lives!”, said Rubal Kharbanda – Music & Marketing Director (Soundkraft Records). “The money raised is being distributed evenly to all families within the LLAP program, and the funds offer the families much appreciated financial reprieve”, said Chris Stocco, Business Manager – Autism Partnership Australia.

After hosting several successful events at venues such as Roxanne Parlour, The Hi-Fi, Room 680, Royal Melbourne Hotel, Brown Alley and many more, SKR are now hosting a dance music stage at Australia’s oldest and Southern hemisphere’s largest free street festival – St Kilda Festival 2013. A Melbourne tradition, it is a celebration of summer, showcasing Australian artists and talent against the spectacular natural beauty of St Kilda foreshore. With over 300,000 attendees on the festival Sunday, St Kilda Festival will see Soundkraft Records as its first dance music stage hosts in the last 3 years. Placed over at Catani Gardens, the Soundkraft Records stage features Dj Jody McLeod (NOVA 100), a special guest. Supported by Rubal ka Band & Nathan Olson, the stage also showcases Melbourne’s Wah Wah Lounge DJs performing a wide range of dance music to get the party rocking.
