The City of Port Phillip is proud to sponsor the annual Pride March for the 18th year running.

Mayor Cr Amanda Stevens says Pride March is one of the most anticipated events on the City of Port Phillip calendar and it is a great way to support the GLBTI community and celebrate diversity with friends, family and colleagues.

“We are inviting the community to join us for Pride March 2013 on Sunday 3 February. Everyone is welcome to march, including family and friends, and we guarantee a fun-filled event full of music, food and plenty of atmosphere.”

The Mayor said The City of Port Phillip is proud to support the Pride March from its inception and continues to celebrate diversity in all its forms, starting from within the Council.

“Every year, many members of our staff attend the march and in support of this important event we are flying the Rainbow Flag at mast head from the highest flagpole at the St Kilda, South Melbourne and Port Melbourne Town Halls during the week leading up to Pride March.”

Pride March Victoria is recognised worldwide and brings many local, interstate and international visitors to the City of Port Phillip each year.

The event has continued to change lives and perceptions, not just of the people in the 100 groups which regularly participate but of the tens of thousands who line the City’s streets to watch.

Pride March is one of many cultural events organised by Pride March Victoria each summer.
