Statement by City of Port Phillip Mayor Bernadene Voss

City of Port Phillip CEO Tracey Slatter has resigned to take up the role of Managing Director at Barwon Water, Geelong.

Port Phillip Council regrets her departure, although we understand the new role is a great opportunity for Ms Slatter to continue to progress her career and we fully support her decision.

Ms Slatter strongly supported Council over its full four year term at a time when many complex major projects and initiatives were being developed.

Under Council’s direction, she provided valuable strategic advice and played a major role in delivering the advocacy agenda set by Councillors.

Her expertise and vision are also reflected in our 2015/16 Annual Report which shows Council is on track to deliver its 2013-17 Council Plan after achieving milestones including ongoing efficiency savings of more than $5 million over the past two years.

Advertising for a new CEO will be undertaken later this year under the direction of the incoming Council.

Ms Slatter will remain with Council until the end of December to assist the newly elected Council with transition arrangements.
