The 1997 release; Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee is being remade! This new remake will go by the name: Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee New N’ Tasty.

It’s going to be a complete remake of the original, for example: in the original game you looked through a screen flip, then you had to make your decision before you went through, but in the new version, because you can see further in front of you, you can make that change part of your gameplay there and then, without finding out the hard way and retrying. Around 80 to 90 percent of the puzzles are the same though, as the removal of flip screen called for some changes to be made.

The game will be released on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and PC sometime in 2013.

Oddworld: Hand of Odd is said to be in production following Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee New N’ Tasty as well. It actually started its development alongside Munch’s Oddysee, but when Munch’s Oddysee made a change from Playstation 2 to Xbox, Hand of Odd was confirmed as halted, not dropped, at the beginning of 2004. Then in 2011 it was announced that Hand of Odd was to be revived. The mechanics are completely different to any previous Oddworld game, and instead of follow one hero it will follow a few different characters caught in the cross fire of conflict between opposing sides. The game is described as a real-time strategy game, as you are given complete control over the evolution of the games characters and environments. You will build an army of characters, have them build the areas they live in, and then make them do your will. The game will be two players and it was confirmed that up to 16 players can play simultaneously online. There are two teams announced as playable in Hand of Odd: Land Muggers (Bad guys) and Tree Huggers (Good Guys), each with their own attributes. No release date, or what consoles it will be available on, has been announced yet.

There are a few other titles in the Oddworld series to look out for too, such as: Slig Storm, The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot, Oddworld: Squeek’s Oddysee (Said to be the third main hero following Abe and Munch), and Oddworld: Munch’s Exoddus.
