Neil Blake, Port Phillip EcoCentre Director, Port Phillip BayKeeper and all-round environmental heavyweight has been awarded the Dame Phyllis Award, in the Clean Beaches Category, for 2012.

The award was given as an acknowledgement of his outstanding commitment to the environment in our area, including the hard work and dedication behind his program to keep our beaches free of cigarette butts over the summer and for his contribution to the Clean Beaches program initiated by the City of Port Phillip. We thank Neil for his efforts in trying to maintain the ecological health of the bay. And, dude: we love the beard.
