Motorcycle Gang Members Arrested

Sergeant Kris Hamilton advised that Police had charged a member of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang following an incident at a bar in St Kilda. Investigators have been told a group of people attended the Fitzroy Street bar around 12.45am. When denied entry, one of them allegedly produced a firearm and threatened security. The group continued into the venue and police were called.

Upon police arrival, the group fled east on Fitzroy Street before members located them in a near-by car park. During the course of the arrest, members drew their firearms and the group complied with police direction. A 28-year-old Brighton East man, a 29-year-old Heatherton man, a 40-year-old Altona Meadows man, a 27-year-old Brighton East man and a 29-year-old Langwarrin woman were arrested.

They were interviewed at the St Kilda police station and all but one was released from custody pending further investigation. The 27-year-old Brighton East man has been charged with prohibited person possessing a firearm and will be fronted before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today. Police seized two knives and a firearm from the car park.
