Pier Live has long been the place to be for live music by some of Australia’s best artists, and in April they had one of Australia’s best loved rock bands performing: Grinspoon.

In March the band embarked on their ‘Black Rabbits’ tour after the release of their seventh studio album of the same name which debuted at number eight on the Aria charts, and on April 25th they rocked it out at Pier Live in Frankston.

The band originates from Lismore New South Wales and was formed in 1995; it is made up of front man Phil Jamieson, Guitarist Pat Davern, Drummer Kristain Hopes and Bassist Joe Hansen. Grinspoon released their debut album; ‘Guide to a better living’, in 1997, which peaked at number eleven on the Aria charts and ever since then they have had numerous hits, Aria charting albums, multiple platinum certifications, numerous award nominations and they won the Aria for best rock album for ‘Thrills, Kills and Sunday Pills’ in 2005.

Their latest headlining tour provided fans with the longest set the band had ever played. They performed a mix of everyone’s favourites and some of their new stuff too. It was a show that Grinspoon fans wouldn’t have wanted to miss!
