Lona’s Pink Neon Lights Shine in St Kilda!

Lona Pintxos Bar Armadale, sister to Barca Food & Wine, has expanded the Pintxos revolution to one of Melbourne’s iconic restaurant locations. Charles and Edward Sedgley have recently taken over the old Greasy Joe’s in St Kilda and have brought Lona’s unique model of pink neon lights, pintxos, cocktails and fun to bring some new life to Acland Street.

The Lona model is at the forefront of the fusion in Melbourne between restaurant and bar. It caters from couples or groups wanting to try an array of different foods over an extended dinner, to customers simply looking to have a few drinks at the bar whilst sampling pintxos, to functions of all sizes.

Executive chef Tim Bell (previous experience includes Pelican and Barca Food & Wine) is overseeing the menu which ranges from the extensive Pintxos Bar, to diverse hot options from chermoula-spiced honey sumac yoghurt lamb cutlets, to the signature slow-braised pork sliders with jalapeño, crackling and chipotle. Lona’s unique style of food aims to mix diverse flavours with finger food so patrons can enjoy a range of different food options at their leisure.

Lona is also in the process of completing its rear alfresco dining area which will be the biggest outdoor dining area in St Kilda and is expected to be open in late December/early January. Through its membership model, Lona is also very cost-effective for those not wanting to spend an inordinate amount to go out. Membership to Lona is free, and it provides $1 Pintxos and Happy Hour Prices all day every day. Log on to lona.com.au/members to sign up.
