    Grab your picnic basket and head down to the gardens for some sublime music from some of Melbourne’s finest musicians – including string quartets from the Australian National Academy of Music.
  • Rachel by the Stream
    Time: 4:00pm
    Where: The St Kilda Branch
    Rachel by the Stream merges classical music training with a nostalgia for classic jazz melodies, 90s pop hits and a proficiency for on-the-fly looping rarely witnessed in a live setting. Rachel by the Stream flirts in the space between genres, combining elements of quirky pop, ‘swing-noir’ and dubbed out rock with R’n’B sensibilities, to layer down a sound that is uniquely engaging.
  • Jenny Biddle
    Time: 4:00pm
    Where: Fitzrovia
    At one moment humble in her abilities, then suddenly letting rip into a blistering guitar attack that resembles Ian Moss in full flight, songsmith Jenny Biddle is captivating audiences throughout Australia.
    With a commanding musical dexterity from beautiful non-nonsense folk, to dirty blues grooves, rockin’ piano riffs, or an intimate moment of reflection, Jenny is well-worth catching before the moment passes.
  • Centre and the South
    Time: 6:00pm
    Where: Eclectico
    This reggae roots outfit is notorious for intimate yet highly energetic performances that emanate an ambience of peace and spirituality – the motto ‘we are a friendship, not a band’ echoes through their music. The band merge classic genre sounds with funk and soul.

  • Veludo
    Time: 9:00pm
    Where: Prince Public Bar
    Having relocated to Melbourne from Perth in 2011, melodic rock band Veludo (formerly Gasoline inc) deliver an energetic live performance based on strong song writing and a stadium-sized sound. Veludo are primed to make their mark on the Australian rock landscape.
  • Beach Volleyball Victorian Open 2013
    Time: 8:00am – 8:00pm
    Where: St Kilda Foreshore
    The longest standing Beach Volleyball event in Australia attracts the best male and female players from around the country and the world. Don’t miss the action! The Victorian Open has been a part of the St Kilda Festival for nearly 20 years. It has brought some of the best players from around the globe to St Kilda and puts on an action-packed, fun-filled, sun-soaked (sometimes rain-soaked and wind-blown but always highly exciting)
