Keyboard Warriors

All the time I see articles, news reports and websites about cyber bullying on Facebook. The problem, however, is that these sort of publications are always written by mature age adults.

No offense, but do they even know what they’re talking about? Has cyber bullying ever happened to them or are they just going off a bunch of statistics? Statistics say that one in five teens report being victimised by cyber bullying. From a teenager’s point of view, it’s a lot more than that. A lot of teens just don’t come forward and ask for help.

I’m constantly seeing bullying on Facebook, out there for everyone in the cyber world to see. They do it because it’s a lot easier to say things behind the comfort of a computer screen rather than face to face. I believe that just because it’s easier, it doesn’t make it right. I don’t think people would do it if they knew the hurt they put the victim through. They just think it’s all a big joke.

Perhaps it’s just me, but I don’t see the funny side in bullying someone to the point they consider taking their own life. Talk about a bad sense of humour. My advice for anybody being victimised by some keyboard warrior; don’t be afraid to ask for help!
