How to make a Negroni…differently

The Negroni cocktail is both an aperitif and summer drink. Traditionally made of gin, vermouth rosso (red, semi-sweet) and Campari, it’s refreshing, yet potent.

In the fine spirit of experimentation, some of our eccentric local bars have bastardised the original and added their own twist.

A classic Negroni rapid infused in a creamer gun with saffron, fresh lemon thyme & lemon zest.

  • 1 oz. London dry gin
  • 1 oz. Campari
  • 1 oz. vermouth rosso

Antique Bar’s ‘Australian Negroni’






This all Australian version of the Negroni uses Applewood distillery’s amaro called Red Okar. This herbal, perfumed bitter replaces the Campari. This is poured with equal parts with Maidenii sweet vermouth and Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin.

  • 30ml Applewood Distillery Red Okar
  • 30ml Four Pillars Gin
  • 30ml Maidenii sweet vermouth
  • Stir down
  • Strain over fresh large ice cube
  • Orange twist
