How do you get off the merry-go-round?

It seems that in life, when you are faced with the adversity of unemployment for a long period of time you get depressed and downhearted – Shamed with the stigma of being on the ‘dole’. You get used to Centrelink and Job Agencies and feel as though you have become another number.

I find, though, that if you learn from past mistakes, gain positive feelings within’ yourself and have a better approach to the particular jobs you’re applying for (or an idea in a career), that you will find a passion and a dream, you will succeed and get the answers you’re looking for, you will accomplish that goal – Having a job to go to is a goal that we should all aim for.

Personally I like to think big, and believe that if you want to be successful you have to hang around successful people, want to dream big; go hang around people in areas that are rich and nice. Think positive and act positive, and I know you will succeed.

However, it can be very hard to get out of the system; you get so used to receiving the ‘dole’, you assume that there’s no point in trying to get motivated (I know from past experiences) and you withdraw and get into a habit. Yes, I know that there are individuals who cannot work due to health issues, family situations, etc… and I sympathise with them, it’s not easy. But when all else fails and seems hopeless, I step back and be thankful that I am alive, I’m here for a purpose, I have pride.

We live in a fast paced society and these are hard times, it’s tough, life gets busy, but there is hope, all is not lost and by getting motivated you can get that dream job, it will come.

From the past to now, I have realised the mistakes that I have made and I’ve learnt from them, I will not give up what I’m fighting for – Someone once said that “it’s the destination that determines the future”.

So, if you have the right attitude in life you will get off the merry-go-round and things will fall into place; you will succeed, so think big.
