Indigenous Hip Hop Projects (IHHP) wowed the audience at Spring Fling on Acland Street earlier this month. It marked the opening of Acland Street Plaza and tram stop upgrade.

IHHP is a unique team of talented artists in all elements of hip hop, media, entertainment and performing arts, who have been working extensively in Indigenous communities around Australia since 2005.

According to the organisers, it engages with over 55 communities nationally in a week-long capacity using an average of four artists each year. The project uses a balanced combination of female and male artists in each community. Every State and Territory in Australia has been visited, reaching out to young Indigenous people in remote, regional and urban communities.

IHHP delivers hip hop performances and workshops at over 50 festivals, conferences and events annually in Australia. During each project, IHHP promotes relevant campaign messages through emceeing, song lyrics, and/or structured dance and art mural workshops.
