Explain the idea of Hemp Kitchen?

A brunch haven by day and an intimate restaurant with a modern Italian twist by night, St.Kilda’s Hemp Kitchen is the first hemp-based restaurant in Victoria.

At Hemp Kitchen, we tap into this superfood’s exciting potential while reintroducing delicacies that food intolerances have chased out of your diet. In doing so, we have designed an innovative gluten-free menu with a range of vegetarian, vegan and dairy free meals.

What’s the difference between hemp and marijuana?

For many years, hemp was illegal simply for being from the same family of recreational marijuana. This superfood was finally recognised for its benefits and was made legal in Australia in November of 2017.

What are the health benefits of consuming hemp? 

At Hemp Kitchen, we are adamant about eradicating the stigma that has deterred hemp for so many years and shine the light on all its benefits. In doing so, we would first like to mention the fact that even if you ate/smoked an entire field of hemp, you will not experience the psychoactive effects that you would when consuming marijuana, but instead will reap all the benefits of this superfood as it is: protein-packed, sugar free, gluten free, low in carbohydrates, full of gut-cleansing fibre, the only plant food source known to contain Vitamin D3, contains Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Zinc and B Vitamins, contains cholesterol-fighting compounds, rich in Essential Fatty Acids, and last but not least, there are no known allergies to hemp.
