Staff at St Kilda’s Linden Gallery that feared being charged with child pornography charges have been granted indemnity from prosecution after they displayed work from artist Paul Yore.

Yore is charged with producing and possessing child pornography for his exhibition that included naked adult male torsos superimposed with children’s faces.

The prosecution alleged the exhibition reflected images of children in a sexual context.

Staff at the gallery were granted indemnity against prosecution after expressing fears they could be charged with possession of child pornography for exhibiting the artwork.

The magistrate said her main task was to determine whether the art actually constituted child pornography.

Police raided his controversial art installation at the Linden Gallery in St Kilda last year.

The hearing continues.
