Elvis Tribute Week Festival Launches In Melbourne

Each August on the date of Elvis’ death, fans celebrate the ‘King’ during what is known around the world as ‘Tribute Week,’ which coincides with the largest annual celebration of Elvis Presley in Memphis, USA.

Currently there is no large-scale celebration of Elvis in Australia during this time. So, welcome, and come join Elvis Downunder as they now seek the support of fans to enjoy the festival and help make the Elvis Tribute Week Festival a success.

Melbourne promises to see Elvis fans on mass to attend the inaugural Elvis Tribute Week Festival on August 9th – 16th. With several key events across Kew, Rowville, Mt Evelyn and South Yarra, the Elvis Tribute Week Festival (ETWF) promises to have something for all Elvis fans.

The first event to celebrate ‘Tribute Week’ is the Elvis Tribute Show at the Renaissance Theatre in Kew on August 9th. The festivities also include a family day at the Caribbean Gardens markets in Rowville (10th), King’s Karaoke night in Mt Evelyn (14th) and a Monument Tour plus Rock & Roll Lunch at the Soda Rock Café in South Yarra on the 16th.

ETWF are excited about securing the talents of three fabulous Elvis tribute artists (ETAs) to perform across the Festival. Headlining the Elvis Tribute Week Festival is the 2012 Australian Ultimate Elvis Competition winner Mr. Damian Mullin. Damian is backed by his fantastic band the Memphis Men and promises to deliver a concert to remember.

Over the past 12 months, ETWF has been working behind the scenes securing artists, venues, programs, etc… for the scheduled events.

ETWF has launched a ‘Crowd Funding’ program with Pozible.com, a portal where fans can show their support and participate in the celebrations.
