The Balaclava and Elwood community is getting enthusiastically involved in the first Community Christmas Tree Festival being hosted by Holy Trinity Anglican Church at the end of Chapel Street in December.

Over fifty Christmas trees will be decorated in a variety of themes by local individuals, families, community groups, businesses and schools. The trees will be on display in the church for all the public to see (gold coin donation for adults, children free) from Friday the 7th to Sunday the 9th of December.

In this magical atmosphere of trees and lights, Melbourne Singers of Gospel will sing songs of soul and purpose at the “Lighting of the World” concert on Saturday evening, 8th of December, at 6pm (tickets $20pp at door, under 12yrs free)

Bringing the festival to an end, everyone is welcome to join in singing carols amongst the Christmas trees from 4pm on Sunday afternoon (9th of December).

Geoff Cheong, Vicar of Holy Trinity, is delighted at the response the Community Christmas Tree Festival has had so far; “We’re a small congregation but we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone in the community to see what should be an amazing display of Christmas trees and Christmas spirit”.

Photo opportunities will be available.
