Tucked away on the Glen Eira/Orrong Road corner, the Changz boys have quietly built an empire. Stylistically, they sit on the inventive end of the market, with some serious cooking prowess in the kitchen and a whole range of in-house sauces at their disposal. 

Their Mushroom and Truffle is stuff of beauty. Don’t be confused with the title, underneath the delicately fried enochi mushrooms are two unapologetic meat patties. Vegetarians retreat. The taste is unique – very rich, sweet and meaty, with the truffle undulating – all in one mouthful. Magic.

But their The Jucy Lucy is fast becoming the new hero. Originally invented in Minneapolis in the 1950’s, this version is a little more refined. Cooked sous vide before hitting the hot grill, the 180g beef pattie is stuffed with oozing Swiss gruyere cheese. This burger is both decadent and fresh, rounded out perfectly with black Russian tomato, butter lettuce, house-made pickles and their signature Canteen burger sauce.
