St Kilda’s Acland Court Shopping Centre has announced its 2015 line up of free live music events, which over the past two years has proven to be a hit with local residents and retailers.

Between March and September 2015, the Centre will showcase jazz, gypsy and classical music (with many of the musicians hailing from the local area) to celebrate autumn, winter and spring.

What:               Live music events at Acland Court Shopping Centre, located in the heart of music-loving St Kilda, to celebrate the sounds of the seasons

Where:             Acland Court Shopping Centre, Ground Floor, 158 Acland Street, St Kilda

When:              Sunday 15th March, 2015 – jazz music 2pm to 4pm

Sunday 21st June, 2015 – gypsy music 2pm to 4pm

Sunday 20th September, 2015 – classical music 2pm to 4pm

“Although Acland Court Shopping Centre isn’t your average live music venue, these events have proven to be an extremely popular initiative with locals. The open space and high ceiling results in the music floating throughout the entire centre,” says Sue Defina, Manager, Acland Court Shopping Centre.

“In a town where live music reigns, all the world is a stage – which we’re proving by opening up our shopping centre and giving musicians the floor”

“For many musicians, it can be a struggle to find the right setting to showcase their abilities. Acland Court Shopping Centre provides this space and gives free entertainment to the local community, too. It’s what St Kilda is all about,” says event Music Director, Ailsa Page.

Acland Court Shopping Centre first introduced live music in July 2013 to the absolute delight of the local community.

Since launching in 1999, Acland Court Shopping Centre has grown into a popular little shopping hot spot. It offers 15 diverse retailers and three levels of secure undercover parking with wheelchair access (car park open from 6am to midnight daily). It also acts as a gateway to explore St Kilda’s famous Acland Street, Barkly Street and Fitzroy Street.
