4 Simple Steps to Weight Loss Success

Whilst losing weight can sometimes be a little confusing, it is not rocket science and when you hear the real truth on how to reach your weight loss goals it almost seems quite simple. Just keep in mind that simple does not mean easy.

In this day and age with all the modern technology to keep us lazy and the huge array of processed foods at our fingertips to tempt us, a little hard work and discipline is required to set yourself apart from the rest of the pack and be in the minority that actually achieves their weight loss goals.

Here’s the simple but not necessarily easy way to ensure you’re going to look like the best version of you possible.


Fix up your diet
This is really the first place to start. Exercise has plenty of health and functional benefits, but will do little for fat loss if your diet is not conducive to getting results too, there is an old saying: ‘you can’t out train your diet’. In a nutshell; cut out any processed, man made foods like sweets, bread, pasta, pastries, biscuits, noodles, and obvious junk foods. Most of these foods will come in plastic wrapping or a cardboard box. Stick to natural foods that you could have eaten if you were alive 20,000 years ago and living in the forest – lean meats, seafood, fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and water should be the staple of a healthy fat loss meal plan. This is the food that humans have survived and thrived on for thousands of years and if you stray from your natural diet for long enough you’ll start paying the price at some point. You can’t cheat Mother Nature!


Do some Weight Training
Weight training used to be just for the ‘meathead’ bodybuilders, but these days most people know that an appropriate and well structured strength training program is very important for health, functionality, and for helping you to lose body fat and stay lean. Weight training will speed up your metabolism helping you to burn body fat, whilst keeping your muscles strong and looking toned. If you’ve never done any weight training before I highly recommend hiring a personal trainer to show you correct technique and programming so you don’t injure yourself.


Exercise with Intensity
To get results and ensure you are improving and progressing with your exercise program, just like anything else, you need to work hard and you’ll get out what you put in. It is when you get out of your comfort zone and push your body to do things that it hasn’t done before, that your body will adapt to the physical demands being placed upon it and get stronger, fitter, grow muscle, lose fat, etc… It doesn’t matter how fit or strong you are now, it’s all relative, everyone has the ability to train hard, you’ve just got to push yourself to your limits to get the best results. The people who push themselves out of their comfort zone, work hard and train with high intensity are the ones who get results.


Be Consistent
One of the biggest mistakes I see which really sets people back is not being consistent with their diet and with their exercise program. Your body and health will reflect the lifestyle you lead over time, it won’t reflect a 4 week health kick trying to make up for poor lifestyle choices. Think of exercise as brushing your teeth, its’ just something you need to do as part of your lifestyle and is just a part of being a healthy, happy human being. You wouldn’t brush your teeth for 4 weeks then stop would you?
